Dice Bash — a dice board game you play on the TV with your phones
Dice Bash is a free road-trip dice board game for 2–6 players: the TV shows a 50-tile board, every phone is a controller, and a game takes about 12–22 minutes. Roll to drive your car up the board, climb ladders, dodge slides and win quick mini-games on the coloured tiles. It runs in a web browser with a host in English, Spanish, Hindi or Nepali, so there is no console, app, or account to set up.
Plays like Snakes and Ladders on a road-trip board — roll, climb ladders, dodge slides — except the coloured tiles open quick mini-games borrowed from Quick Bash, Crowd Says, What’s That?! and Act It Out, so a good answer moves you as much as a good roll.
Ideal player count
2–6 players. Two makes a close head-to-head race; four to six fills the parking lot and makes ladders, slides and steals far more dramatic.
Session length
About 12–22 minutes
Phone experience
Your phone is your dice and your answer pad: tap ROLL, then answer the mini-game, pick “move 1 or 2” after a right answer, or play a power card. When it is not your turn, your phone shows whose turn it is and what they are facing.
TV / shared-screen experience
The TV shows the whole road-trip board with every player’s car, glows each tile as a car drives over it, and plays out ladders, slides, mini-games and the final Bash gate so the room can follow every turn.
Scoring
Position is the score. Right answers let you move one or two tiles, misses can push you back, ladders lift you and slides drop you. The first car through the Bash gate on tile 49 to the finish on tile 50 wins; everyone else is ranked by how far up the board they got.

How do you play Dice Bash, step by step?
Start a room and join with phones
Open playgamebash.com on the TV or laptop, start a room, choose Dice Bash, and have 2–6 players join from their phones with the room code or QR code.
Roll a 1 to leave the parking lot
Every car starts in the parking lot. Tap ROLL on your phone; a 1 drives your car onto the first tile and earns a bonus roll straight away.
Roll and drive up the board
On each turn, roll and your car drives one tile at a time along the 50-tile road. A player in last place rolls two dice and keeps the better one.
Play the mini-game on a coloured tile
Blue tiles ask a trivia question, pink tiles ask for a top survey answer, purple tiles are a triple — three quick questions, two right to move — orange tiles are a dare to act out, and yellow tiles are a steal. Get it right and choose to move 1 or 2 tiles; miss and you may slip back.
Climb ladders and dodge slides
Land at the foot of a ladder and you climb ahead; land at the top of a slide and you slide back down the board.
Use your power cards
Winning a challenge can earn a power card: Reroll to roll again, Shield to block a slide or a setback, or Swap to trade places with a rival.
Clear the Bash gate to win
Tile 49 is the Bash gate: answer two of three quick questions to drive onto tile 50 and win. Fall short and you drop back three tiles to try again.
What is Dice Bash?
Dice Bash is a digital dice board game for family night or a virtual board game night. The shared screen is the board — a road trip with 50 tiles, ladders, slides and a parking lot — and each player’s phone is their dice. There are no pieces to set up, no rules to read aloud and no score to keep: the game moves the cars, runs the mini-games and announces the winner.
It is built for 2 to 6 players. With two it plays like a close head-to-head dice race; with a full table, every ladder, slide and steal lands in front of the whole room.
How does a turn work in Dice Bash?
Every car starts in the parking lot and needs a 1 to get on the road — then that player gets a bonus roll. After that, each roll drives your car tile by tile toward the finish. You never need an exact roll: a big roll near the end simply stops at the Bash gate.
Grey tiles are a quiet stop. Coloured tiles open a quick mini-game, ladders lift you forward, and slides send you back down. Landing on a tile another car already holds starts a Duel.
What happens on the coloured tiles?
Each colour is a mini-game drawn from another GameBash game, so the board never plays the same way twice. A right answer lets you choose to move 1 or 2 tiles — handy for stepping onto a ladder or around a slide — while a miss can cost you ground.
- Blue — a trivia question from Quick Bash
- Pink — name a top answer from a Crowd Says survey
- Purple — a triple: three quick Quick Bash questions, get two right to move
- Orange — act out a prompt from Act It Out
- Yellow — a steal: pick a rival, and if they miss, you swap places
Is Dice Bash like Snakes and Ladders?
In spirit, yes: one road, a die, ladders that lift you and slides that drop you. The difference is that luck is only half the game. Mini-games, power cards and the Bash gate give a player who is behind real ways to catch up, and the last-place player rolls two dice and keeps the better one.
What are power cards and the Bash gate?
Clearing a challenge can earn you one power card. Reroll lets you roll again before moving, Shield blocks a slide or a setback when you choose to use it, and Swap lets you trade places with a rival instead of rolling.
Tile 49 is the Bash gate, the last big moment of the race: three quick questions, two right to drive onto tile 50 and win. Miss and your car drops back three tiles to try again.
Can you play Dice Bash without a TV?
Yes. With a TV, laptop or monitor the board is the centre of the room. With no shared screen, Dice Bash runs in phone-party mode: every phone shows a compact board, so you can play around a table or with friends who are not in the same room.

Frequently asked questions
- Is Dice Bash like Snakes and Ladders?

- Yes. Dice Bash is for 2 to 6 players, and two players make a close head-to-head race. Each player just needs their own phone.
- Do I need a console to play Dice Bash on my TV?

- How long does a game of Dice Bash take?
- About 12 to 22 minutes, depending on the number of players and how the ladders and slides fall.
- Can we play Dice Bash remotely or without a TV?

- What language is Dice Bash in?
- Dice Bash is available with an English, Spanish, Hindi or Nepali host. Pick the language when you create the room and the host, questions and prompts follow it.
- Why do I need to roll a 1 to start?
